  • Walk the South West Coast Path between Penzance and Newlyn and you'll see a memorial to fishermen lost at sea which was unveiled by HRH The Princess Royal on 11th October 2007. If you turn around such that your back is to the water, you'll be looking at Newlyn Art Gallery. It's situated on the edge of Newlyn by the sign that welcomes you to this famous coastal town
  • On one of its walls is a sculpture of Stanhope Alexander Forbes R.A. 1857-1947. Forbes is recognised as the leading figure in the Newlyn School of Art. Their art, and that of subsequent generations, has been exhibited in this gallery space for over a century. 'Newlyn Art Gallery and now The Exchange have operated for the benefit of the people and artists of West Cornwall and to visitors to our region since 1895.'
