Nattadon Common, Devon

Nattadon Common is high ground above Chagford in the northern section of Dartmoor National Park. Meldon Hill and Meldon Common are to its south west. Week Down is to the east
We'd recommend walking to the top of Nattadon Common from the centre of Chagford. The path that climbs up the side of the hill is clearly marked on the Ordnance Survey Explorer OL28 'Dartmoor' map. If time is pressing, there's plenty of parking just off the road that passes Nattadon's eastern flank
The views are wonderful. To the north east, look out for the National Trust's Castle Drogo and Gardens and the Teign Gorge. To the west, beyond Meldon Hill, you'll see the high moors of the northern plateau of Dartmoor National Park. The huge, domed hill is Cosdon Beacon and Hill. The isolated rocky outcrop to the west is Kestor Rock
We'd suggest you also explore Meldon Hill and Week Down. There's a gentle, looping walk on and below the latter. Again, this is clearly marked on the Ordnance Survey Explorer OL28 'Dartmoor' map
