Lundy Beach, Cornwall

  • Located in New Polzeath, Cornwall, South West England, England
  • North Cornwall is known for its big sand beaches. There are also numerous smaller coves and rocky beaches that fringe its coastline. Lundy Beach is a rock and sand beach just north of the mouth of the Camel Estuary and Padstow Bay. It's reminiscent of the wild coastline running north of the Cornwall/Devon border around The Hartland Peninsula. Lundy Beach is a superb place that we'd recommend visiting whilst walking the South West Coast Path in this area
  • The South West Coast Path runs behind the beach. Wooden steps lead down to the upper section of the beach which is covered by giant rocks. There's a bit of a scramble to get to the sand. A small waterfall is pretty behind. At low tide, sand is exposed running out to sea
  • Lundy Beach is located within Lundy Bay. Epphaven Cove is to the east. Beyond that are the National Trust's Doyden Castle and Port Quin Beach
  • We've positioned Lundy Beach on Google maps. Zoom in on the 'Satellite' setting to see its location. There are plenty of car parks in the local area. See the Ordnance Survey Explorer 106 'Newquay & Padstow' map for detail. We've walked in from the Old Lead Mine (New Polzeath), Port Quin and Lundy Bay Car Park
