Turf Lock and Hotel, Devon

If you like walking, head south on the Exe Valley Way. There's a pub at the end of the Exeter Ship Canal with exceptional views of the Exe Estuary.

Topsham, Devon

On the eastern bank of the River Exe. It's an extremely beautiful place with plenty of pubs and restaurants. Once again, the views up and down the Exe Estuary are gorgeous.

Dartmoor Ponies, Dartmoor National Park

A short drive from Exeter and a must for anyone into the great outdoors. We'd recommend heading west along the A30 to the Teign Gorge and Chagford area or south west towards Lustleigh Cleave or Haytor Rocks.

Orcombe Point Geoneedle, Devon

Start/end of the Jurassic Coast World Heritage Site. Great views back down towards Exmouth and across the water to the The English Riviera.

The English Riviera

About 30 minutes south of Exeter by car. In places, the English Riviera is staggeringly beautiful. Walk the South West Coast Path, Start (or End) over a sunny weekend.

Budleigh Salterton, East Devon AONB

One of Devon's many Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Plenty to choose from but we'd point you in the direction of Beer if time's short.

Follow the River Exe north and you'll arrive at Tiverton. We'd recommend visiting for its church alone.

Budleigh Salterton

One of Devon's most beautifully located coastal resorts. The area provides top coastal walking on the South West Coast Path.

Dunkery from Luccombe, Exmoor

Head north and visit the high moors and coastal cliffs of Exmoor National Park.

Plymouth, Devon

Rich in history with a fantastic location. Plymouth is another great base from which to explore much of South West England.
