Gateway to the moors and wooded valleys
One of many ‘gateway towns’ to the moors and wooded valleys of Dartmoor National Park. In our opinion, Bovey Tracey leads to one of the most beautiful areas of the Park running from Lustleigh Cleave down to Haytor Rocks.

We'd recommend heading west on the B3387. The road splits. To the right are Lustleigh Cleave, Becky Falls Woodland Park and Bowerman's Nose. To the left are Haytor Rocks, Widecombe St Pancras Church and Shilstone Rocks, Dartmoor Horse Riding.

Between, you'll experience Hound Tor (East Dartmoor) and Dartmoor Giant Chair, Bonehill Rocks and Hamel Down. This is great Dartmoor walking and riding country.

Other attractions
To the north east is the exceptionally popular Canonteign Falls and to the south east The English Riviera. To the north is Moretonhampstead and to the south Totnes Castle. Beyond Totnes, we'd suggest a day trip to the South Devon AONB.

Both Exeter and Plymouth are within an easy drive.
