Well-heeled and exceptionally beautiful
Rock's well-heeled and exceptionally beautiful. On the north bank of the River Camel and Estuary, its waterside properties face Padstow's harbour wall. A passenger ferry runs between Rock and Padstow on a regular basis.

Local beaches and water sports
Rock Beach and Dunes is superb as are the high dunes behind it. The beach is a sweep of golden sand leading north to Daymer Bay and Hayle Bay (Polzeath and New Polzeath Beach). The dunes offer top views of the Camel Estuary and Padstow Bay guarded by Stepper Point and Pentire Point.

Coastal walking and The Camel Trail
Given the area's natural beauty, we'd recommend walking the South West Coast Path. North of Rock are Pentire Point and Rumps Point, as featured on the BBC's 2010 programme 'Secret Britain'. Across the water, from Padstow, the path heads north past Harbour Cove and Hawker's Cove Beach to Stepper Point.

Padstow is also the start/end of The Camel Trail. Bring a bike.

St Enodoc Church and Prideaux Place
If history and culture are of interest, walk to St Enodoc's Church where Sir John Betjemen's buried. In Padstow, visit the National Trust's Prideaux Place.

Local attractions and day trips
North of the River Camel and Estuary, try the pretty harbour village of Port Isaac. North of that, visit Tintagel Castle and Boscastle.

South of the River Camel and Estuary, explore the gorgeous bays around Trevose Head before heading on down to the Bedruthan Steps and Watergate Beach/Tregurrian Beach, Newquay and Perran Beach.

For longer day trips, try The Eden Project and St. Ives.
