Cornish coast and the Roseland Peninsula
A pretty Cornish harbour village on the beautiful The Roseland Peninsula, Portscatho is a short distance from St. Mawes and Falmouth.

Looking out across Gerrans Bay, the village has a good beach and provides excellent coastal walking on the South West Coast Path. To the north and north east are Porthcurnick Beach, Pendower Beach and Carne Beach.

Local attractions
We'd recommend a trip to the south of the The Roseland Peninsula at St Anthony Head. There's a large car park and top coastal walking to St Anthony which is across the water from St. Mawes.

North east of Portscatho, try Caerhays Castle and Porthluney Cove. Beyond those, we'd suggest you explore Mevagissey and its surrounding area. The Lost Gardens of Heligan is a must.

To the north west and west, visit Truro Cathedral and Falmouth. Falmouth Pendennis Castle is well worth a visit and has great views back to St Mawes Castle.

Longer day trips
As ever, we'd argue that Cornwall's a small county so take a few longer day trips. The Eden Project is north of the The Roseland Peninsula. Newquay's to the north west and St. Ives to the west.
