Carbis Bay Beach, Cornwall

Carbis Bay Beach is a beautiful strip of sand running from the cliffs south of Porthminster Point across to Carrack Gladden. The beach is below a train station. There are good facilities.

Porth Kidney Sands, Cornwall

Follow the South West Coast Path east of Carbis Bay Beach and you get to Porth Kidney Sands. It's a huge expanse of sand running into Hayle Estuary.

Porthminster Beach, Cornwall

Follow the South West Coast Path north west of Carbis Bay and you'll come to the blond sand of St Ives Porthminster Beach. Very easily accessible. Great views. Good facilities.

St Ives Harbour

We'd recommend visiting the harbour beach at low tide. It becomes a large expanse of sand. Walk to the end of Smeaton's Pier for great views.

St Ives Porthmeor Beach, Cornwall

From St Ives Harbour and Beach, cut across town to explore Porthmeor Beach. It backs onto Tate St Ives. St Ives Head or The Island is at the eastern end of the beach.

Hayle Beach, Cornwall

The River Hayle and Estuary divides Porth Kidney Sands from Hayle Beach. At low tide, the latter is massive. If you have time, we'd recommend walking north east along miles of sand to Gwithian Beach and Godrevy Cove.

Gwithian Sands

Gwithian Beach is at the northern end of St Ives Bay. It's popular with surfers. Explore St Gothian Sands Nature Reserve and Gwithian Towans behind the beach.

Marazion Beach, Cornwall

South of Carbis Bay, across the neck of land connecting The Land's End Peninsula (The Penwith Peninsula) with the rest of Cornwall, is Mount's Bay. Marazion Beach (West) is a big sand beach across the water from St Michael's Mount.

Sennen Cove Beach

Sennen Cove regularly features in the national press. It's a blond sand beach on The Land's End Peninsula (The Penwith Peninsula). Stunning place.

Pedn Vounder Beach, Cornwall

At low tide, this is one of the most beautiful beaches in the UK. Crushed shell sand runs up to polished granite cliffs. The colours here can be amazing.
