Trebetherick St Enodoc Church, Cornwall

  • Located in Trebetherick, Cornwall, South West England, England
  • St Enodoc Church is located behind Daymer Bay and Brea Hill on the east bank of the Camel Estuary by Padstow Bay. St Enodoc is one of three churches in the North Cornwall parish of St Minver. The other churches are Porthilly St Michael's Church and St Minver Church
  • The church is famous as the burial place of the Poet Laureate John Betjeman
  • To visit, we'd recommend the walk along Rock Beach and Dunes to Brea Hill. Summit the hill for exceptional views of the Camel Estuary, this part of North Cornwall, the high ground of Bodmin Moor and St Enodoc Church which is within a local golf course to the east. Drop down the hill to the back of Daymer Bay and you pick up a path that cuts across the golf course to the church. There are white stone markers to guide you and signs clearly stating that you should watch out for wayward golf balls. The wizard hat spire is visible throughout this walk. We've positioned Trebetherick St Enodoc Church on Google maps so zoom in on the 'Satellite' setting to see its exact location. We'd also recommend consulting the Ordnance Survey Explorer 106 'Newquay & Padstow' map for detail
  • Other beautifully located churches on the Cornwall coast include St Anthony-in-Menage Church, Rame St. Germanus Church and St Ives St Ia Church
  • By James Penman
