Tolmen Stone (North River Teign), Devon
- Located in Chagford, Devon, South West England, England
- Downstream of Teign-e-ver Clapper Bridge and Wallabrook Bridge, where the North River Teign meets Walla Brook, there's a huge boulder on the northern bank of the river. On one side of this boulder, a rock basin has been eroded to form a cavity through which you can climb.* We've located the Tolmen Stone on a Google map to help you find it. At the time of writing, it is not marked on the Ordnance Survey OL28 'Dartmoor' map. If you're using that map, park at Batworthy Corner and head for the Teign-e-ver Clapper Bridge
- Some say the Tolmen Stone has curative powers
- In the local area, explore the Rock Basins on Chagford Common and discover its rich prehistory. Visit Shovel Down Stone Rows and Scorhill Stone Circle. A little further away, we'd recommend seeing Fernworthy Circle and Chagford Common Stone Row (Eastern Section)
- Read our summary guides to Chagford and Dartmoor National Park to learn more about the wider area
- *We've spent years walking and exploring Dartmoor National Park. Whilst the Park's rivers and streams are gentle during dry spells, *do not*, under any circumstance, go near the water after periods of heavy rain. Even a small river like North River Teign can be extremely powerful
