- Runs from Exmouth in East Devon (Orcombe Point is the official beginning, or end) to the area around Swanage in Dorset (that's Old Harry Rocks and Handfast Point)
- There are many 'gateway towns' to the coastline including Exmouth, Budleigh Salterton, Sidmouth, Beer, Seaton, Lyme Regis, West Bay and Swanage
- 95 miles long
- Covers 185 million years of geological history
- Famous features along the coastline include: Lulworth Cove, Durdle Door, Isle of Portland, Chesil Beach, West Bay Beach and (East) Cliffs, Golden Cap, Sidmouth Cliffs (East), Budleigh Salterton Cliffs
- There are plenty of places to hunt for fossils along the coast, for example at Lyme Regis. Bring along a hammer, or buy one from the many fossil shops in town!
- West Bay is roughly in the centre of the Jurassic Coast which is why we have geo-located the attraction there
- 'The cliff exposures along the Dorset and East Devon coast provide an almost continuous sequence of rock formations spanning the Mesozoic Era, or some 185 million years of the Earth's history' (source: UNESCO World Heritage site, link provided)
