Deer Stalkers Paths, Devon

  • Located in Chagford, Devon, South West England, England
  • In 2012, new signs* appeared south of the River Teign in the Teign Gorge area of Dartmoor National Park. At valley floor level, the signs are marked 'Deer Stalker Path'. Farther up, they split into 'Lower Deer Stalker Path' and 'Upper Deer Stalker Path'. Access is via both the Iron Bridge and Fingle Bridge ends of the Teign Gorge. At Fingle Bridge, a wide track winds up the valley wall past the 'Lower Deer Stalker Path' and 'Upper Deer Stalker Path' to Cranbrook Castle
  • North of the River Teign, on the upper slopes of the gorge, is the popular Hunters Path leading to the National Trust's Castle Drogo and Gardens
  • *We've been walking regularly in the Teign Gorge for four years now and first noticed these signs in 2012. If this information is incorrect, please contact us such that we can update it. Many thanks
