Boscastle Visitor Centre, Cornwall

  • Located in Boscastle, Cornwall, South West England, England
  • The North Cornwall coast running from Port Isaac through Tintagel and Boscastle to the Bude area is wild and rich in history. Whilst points of interest such as English Heritage's Tintagel Castle and the National Trust's Boscastle Harbour are literally unmissable, it's relatively easy to walk this stretch of North Cornwall coastline unaware of its Iron Age cliff castles, slate quarries, extraordinary geological features and connection with the UK's literary and artistic heritage. With this in mind, Boscastle Visitor Centre provides a super introduction to both Boscastle and the wider area
  • Boscastle has a long, narrow car park on a bank of the River Valency at the mouth of the Valency Valley. As you walk from this car park towards Boscastle Harbour and the coast, you pass shops and tea rooms until you get to an old lime kiln. Next to this, a large and handsome whitewahsed building is Boscastle Visitor Centre. There are plenty of interpretation boards, books and leaflets. This visitor centre opens out into a National Trust shop and tea room. Note that the Boscastle Museum of Witchcraft is at the southern end of this building
