Prettiest Village In England?
Located in the south of the Cotswolds AONB, many argue that Castle Combe is the prettiest village in England. It's certainly up there with the best* that we've seen on our travels around the country. Honey stone buildings and beautiful countryside make for a memorable experience. Village highlights include St. Andrew's Church and The Market Cross, The White Hart pub and the local museum. On the outskirts of Castle Combe is the famous Castle Combe Circuit to which we include a link below.

The Local Area
Castle Combe is in a fine part of South West England. To the west is Dyrham Park and to the south west Bath. Westonbirt Arboretum is to the north and the pretty National Trust village Lacock to the south east. Other local attractions and destinations we'd recommend include Malmesbury Abbey and Bowood House and Gardens, Bradford on Avon St Laurence Church and Farleigh Hungerford Castle.

Further Afield
If you're on holiday in, or around, Castle Combe for a period of time, we'd recommend exploring the wider area. Cirencester is referred to as the 'Capital of the Cotswolds' and has a fine museum. A little further north east is the sublime village Bibury.

East of Castle Combe, visit STEAM, Museum of the Great Western Railway and Avebury Stone Circle World Heritage Site. At Avebury you'll also find museums and a good National Trust property. To the south and south east, try Longleat Safari Park and Stonehenge World Heritage Site. To the south west are Wells Cathedral and Wookey Hole.
