Natural beauty and coastline, history and people
If you've never been to Wales, go. Go for its natural beauty and coastline, its history and people. Wales is magnificent and, as you might have guessed, we love it.

Along with the other countries in the UK, Wales is small relative to many other destinations around the world. Home to around three million people, it's mighty beautiful. Again, as is the case with England, Scotland and Northern Ireland, because it's small, you get experience a lot of things in a short space of time.

National Parks and Natural Beauty
There are three National Parks (which cover about 20% of the country's land area) and five Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty, a number of UNESCO World Heritage Sites and cracking coastline.

If you're into the great outdoors, you're spoilt for choice. From the rocky peaks of Snowdonia National Park to the rounded summits of the Brecon Beacons National Park, from the dramatic coastline of Pembrokeshire Coast National Park to the sandy beaches of the Lleyn or Gower Peninsulas, there's some serious fresh air with which to unwind.

City and towns
If you're in search of people, try one of Wales's famous seaside resorts such as Tenby or Llandudno, Aberystwyth or Langland on the Gower AONB. There's Wales's capital, Cardiff, too, with its castle and bay, Wales Millennium Centre and National Museum.

Castles and cathedrals
Last, visit its buildings. From St David's Cathedral to its World Heritage Castles such as Caernarfon Castle World Heritage Site, from the eccentric architecture of Portmeirion or Castell Coch to the Romantic power of Tintern Abbey, Wales is gifted with its stock of extraodinary buildings that tell compelling stories.

So, as we said, just go!

Why not start discovering Wales by using the maps provided? Alternatively, why not start discovering popular places such as Gwynedd and Pembrokeshire.
