Bantham Beach

Either approach the beach from the car park at Bantham or from the hill to its east on the South West Coast Path. Amazing views.

For the view looking down at Soar Mill Cove from the National Trust land at Bolberry Down.

Overbeck's Garden and Museum

This National Trust house and gardens is located at the south of the Kingsbridge Salcombe Estuary. Walk to the top of the gardens and look back up the estuary.

Start Bay, Devon

A sweep of coastline and beaches running from Start Point all the way up to the Dartmouth area. We particularly like the view from Start Point looking north.

Blackpool Sands

A Devon classic. Climb the South West Coast Path to the south and then look back down on the beach. It's the view you find in all the tourist guides.

River Dart

It's a fine river for views but it's probably best in Dartmouth and Kingswear. On a sunny day, it's magnificent.

The Warren

In the west of the AONB with views across the Plymouth Sound to Cornwall and Rame Head.

Burgh Island, Devon

Another Devon classic. Mostly viewed from Bigbury-on-Sea but we like the view from the island back towards the mainland.

River Erme and Estuary

Not particularly well known but the beach at the mouth of the River Erme is amazing. Views back up the river towards Dartmoor National Park.

East Portlemouth Beaches

For the view across the sand and water to Salcombe. Try also Mill Bay Beach a little further along the coast.
