Bantham Beach

Massive sand beach which joins Bigbury-on-Sea beach and Burgh Island when the tide's out. Good surf vibe.

Mill Bay Beach

Exceptionally beautiful small beach across the water from Salcombe. The views here are amazing.

Blackpool Sands

Probably the most photographed beach in South Devon, it's a cracker. An arc of blond shingle set against green hills.

Dartmouth Castle

Located at the mouth of the River Dart with views across to Kingswear Castle and back up the estuary. Take a taxi boat here.

Overbeck's Garden and Museum

Exotic National Trust garden high above the Salcombe Kingsbridge Estuary. Great views. There's a museum here, too.

Start Bay, Devon

A large, sweeping bay home to many exceptional shingle beaches. We recommend walking the South West Coast Path here.

River Dart

The 'Dart' of 'Dartmoor', a river flowing from the high moors down to the sea at Dartmouth. Take one of the many boat trips on offer.

River Erme and Estuary

Not well known, but a wonderful sandy estuary with fine views north to Dartmoor. A nice place to stop on the South West Coast Path.

Bolberry Down

Just go for the views alone. Exceptional stretch of coastline offering fine coastal walking. Soar Mill Cove is a highlight.

Burgh Island, Devon

Famous tidal island that's featured on TV and in films. Perhaps most famous as a setting in Agatha Christie novels. Again, exceptional views.
