One of the UK's most popular holiday destinations. When the sun's out (which is a lot down here), the South Devon AONB is sublime. To the north is The English Riviera.
Runs along the south coast of Devon from around Brixham in the east through Dartmouth, Start Point, Salcombe, Bigbury-on-Sea to Plymouth Sound and Plymouth.
The AONB extends across the entire coastline of the South Hams and as far north as Totnes. Dartmoor National Park is to the north and west.
Blue-green seas and exotic vegetation, steep hillsides plunging into water and sandy coves, it's classic family holiday territory.
