East Keal, Lincolnshire, Visitor & Tourism Guide
East Keal is situated at the southern edge of the
Lincolnshire Wolds AONB, one of the many
Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty, some 14 miles north of
Boston and approximately 3 miles south of
Spilsby. The population is circa. 400.
There is ample evidence of human activity in and around the village dating back many thousands of years. Two hundred years ago most of the local population were either directly dependent on the land or worked in the brick and tile industry which flourished prior to the advent of mass produced bricks in the early nineteen hundreds.
The sweeping views over the fens are renowned and on a clear day stretch across the Wash to
Norfolk. Today, the Village remains surrounded by rich farm land growing mainly arable crops and some grassland rearing beef, cattle and sheep.
