Tamar Valley AONB, Visitor & Tourism Guide
Straddling the Devon and Cornwall border
In South West England straddling the border of south west Devon and north east Cornwall. The Tamar Valley AONB runs into Dartmoor National Park to the east and covers the area around the Rivers Tamar and Tavy. Plymouth is to the south and east of the AONB.
Rivers Tamar and Tavy
Steep hills thick with trees rise from the Rivers Tamar and Tavy. Further towards the coast, there are wide, long stretches of water in the estuary. Fine views south to the Tamar Bridges. Deserves its status as an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
