North Wessex Downs AONB, Visitor Guide

In southern England, straddling the counties of Wiltshire, Oxfordshire, Hampshire and Berkshire. Covers the Berkshire Downs, the White Horse Hills, the Marlborough Downs, Pewsey Vale and Savernake Forest. To its north east, the North Wessex Downs AONB runs into the Chilterns AONB. Just beyond its eastern border are Newbury, Basingstoke and Reading.

Home to Avebury Stone Circle World Heritage Site (note that Stonehenge is not part of the North Wessex Downs AONB), Silbury Hill, the Kennet and Avon Canal, Wansdyke, Cherhill White Horse, Ludgershall Castle, Uffington White Horse, Wayland's Smithy Long Barrow.
