Choose a sunny weekend and hop on the train to Devon's English Riviera (eg 2-3 hours from London). Try Torquay around its Marina, Brixham or Babbacombe Downs. We'd recommend walking the South West Coast Path around Tor Bay for the weekend.

One of South West England's finest destinations. A bustling and beautiful town strung out along the bank of the Dart Estuary. Across the water is Kingswear. Can't go wrong with a weekend break here.

East Devon, between Sidmouth and Lyme Regis (Dorset). We travel the South West weekly and this small fishing village is, in our opinion, unique. If you want to relax, head here.

Pretty much in the middle of the impressive Start Bay in the South Devon Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Vast shingle beach and a tank. Glorious walking.

In the north of Dartmoor National Park. Book a few nights in the centre of Chagford and head out to the Teign Gorge and Castle Drogo on foot. Awesome wooded valley that we can't recommend highly enough.

Set between the dramatic red cliffs of the Jurassic Coast, Sidmouth is wonderful. To the west are the impressive Ladram Bay Sea Stacks.

A UK classic. On the South Hams coast within the South Devon Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The estuary here is lined with cracking blond sand beaches.
