Tavistock Abbey, Devon

Tavistock Abbey dominated the local area for over 500 years until its dissolution in 1539. Explore its ruins. See Betsy Grimbal's Tower, the Abbey Chapel and Court Gate in which you'll find a museum.

Tavistock Duke of Bedford Statue, Devon

Yes, a statue. The Earls and Dukes of Bedford took possession of the abbey site and lands after the dissolution. The Pannier Market, Town Hall, Bedford Square, Duke Street are a result of their work.

Tavistock Pannier Market
