Find places to stay in and around Budleigh Salterton in the East Devon AONB. The beach here is stunning as are the red rock cliffs under which a section of the beach runs. Top coastal walking, too.

A coastal walk and beach
Pretty seaside town with an exceptional section of the South West Coast Path to its west and a sweeping pebble beach set beneath dramatic red rock cliffs.

Part of the Jurassic Coast World Heritage Site, Budleigh Salterton Beach is a popular attraction within the East Devon AONB. The beach runs east/west from Otterton Ledge to the area beneath Budleigh Salterton Cliffs. Further west are Littleham Cove and Exmouth Sandy Bay Beach. To the east are Ladram Bay Beach and Sidmouth (Jacob's Ladder) Beach.

Head west
If you're into walking, we'd recommend heading west along the South West Coast Path in the direction of Exmouth. The views back down to Budleigh Salterton where the coastal path skirts the East Devon Golf Course are just out of this world. Dartmoor National Park to the west. The Devon and Dorset coastlines are to the east.

Inland
Inland, visit Bicton Park Botanical Gardens. Great for kids and adults, the setting is wonderful. We'd also suggest exploring the National Trust's Exmouth A la Ronde and Darts Farm, the delightful Topsham and a day trip to Exeter.
