Popular Devon village
A popular, and beautiful,
Devon village set back from the
Jurassic Coast World Heritage Site of
South West England. The National Trust owns many of the buildings within, and land around, Branscombe.
Natural Beauty
The area is stunning, especially its coastline. On sunny days, blue-green seas meet white beaches beneath high green cliffs.
We'd recommend walking the
South West Coast Path east to
Beer Head for views across
Seaton Bay. Alternatively, head west in the direction of
Sidmouth. The stretch of coastline around
Weston Mouth Beach is as good as anything on the UK coast.
Beach and Forge
Visit the National Trust's Old Bakery, Manor Mill and Forge before heading down to
Branscombe Beach.
If you like
churches, try
Branscombe Saint Winifred's Church.
Beer and Sidmouth
For day trips from the Branscombe area, try the stunning seaside village
Beer and the wonderful
East Devon resort
Sidmouth. Note that the cliffs around the latter are red rock. Last, we'd urge you to explore
Lyme Regis on the
Devon/
Dorset border.
