Great walking
Belstone is a beautiful moorland village in the northern section of
Dartmoor National Park. It's an ideal location for a walking holiday. Given its position close to the A30, Belstone's also very easily accessible by car.
We'd recommend staying in Belstone to explore both the high moors and one of the National Park's many wooded 'cleaves' or valleys.
Belstone Cleave is stunning, especially in Autumn.
Mountains
For longer walks, we'd recommend heading up onto
Cosdon Beacon and Hill or walking to
Belstone Tor and Common and then along to
Oke Tor. To the west, you'll see the south of
England's only two
mountains Yes Tor and
High Willhays.
The local area
Okehampton is to the west and
Chagford to the south east.
