Widecombe in the Moor

Dartmoor's most famous village? Close to the Park's well known tors such as Haytor Rocks and easily accessible from The English Riviera and the South Devon AONB..

Belstone, Devon

North Dartmoor and an exceptionally beautiful place. Try Belstone Cleave for wood walks or head south into the high moors.

Lustleigh, Devon

The setting is stunning. Pretty village and great place for lunch or a drink but take the time to explore Lustleigh Cleave, especially its ridge line from which the views are spectacular.

Lydford, Devon

On the western edge of Dartmoor. You must visit for its National Trust gorge (in places exhilerating) and Lydford Castle.

Postbridge, Devon

In the heart of the Park. There's a famous Clapper Bridge here and Bellever Forest is close. Plenty of parking in Postbridge.

To the north of Dartmoor and close to both the National Trust property of Castle Drogo and the Teign Gorge. The well known beauty spot (and pub) of Fingle Bridge is in the Gorge.

Manaton, Devon

Pretty village with views down Lustleigh Cleave towards Teignmouth. Park here and head up onto Hayne Down for Bowerman's Nose and top views of east Dartmoor National Park, esp Haytor Rocks.

South Zeal, Devon

North Dartmoor and close to Belstone. Beautiful village and a good place to start a walk to the summit of Cosdon Hill or into Belstone Cleave.

North Bovey

Beautiful village a short drive from the gateway town of Moretonhampstead. If you have kids, The Miniature Pony Centre is near.

Haytor Vale, Devon

Next to one of the most popular attractions in the Park, Haytor Rocks. Views are exceptional towards the coast and English Riviera.
