Things To Do in Cornwall
Whilst, generally speaking, most visitors head for Cornwall's coastline and beaches, there are loads of high quality attractions to visit should you want a day away from the sea or if the rain comes. From the The Eden Project to Tintagel Castle, a UNESCO World Heritage Site to National Trust properties, there's plenty to do. Here are our 'Top 10 Recommended Things To Do in Cornwall'. Browse the other 'Top 10' lists for further ideas and recommendations.

The Eden Project

Built in a former clay pit and housed in the world's largest conservatories, The Eden Project explores the relationship between man and nature. Whilst it gets very busy in the summer season, it's a top day out.

St Michael's Mount

Dramatic and exceptionally popular National Trust property accessible by boat or foot across a causeway at low tide. Located in Mount's Bay just to the east of The Land's End Peninsula (The Penwith Peninsula). St. Ives is a short drive to the north.

Sennen Cove Beach

A sweeping, white sand beach close to Land's Land's End that pushes out into a blue green sea. Could be the Caribbean when the sun's out. Part of the glorious Penwith Peninsula in south west Cornwall.

Levant Mine & Beam Engine

One of the UK's limited number of UNESCO World Heritage Sites and some of Cornwall's most extraordinary buildings. We'd particularly recommend Botallack Mine The Crowns Engine Houses and Levant Mine and Beam Engine.

St Ives Bay

Possibly one of the most beautiful bays in the world arcing from St. Ives to the south around to Godrevy Point to the north. Great for surfing, sunbathing, swimming, horse riding and coastal walking via the South West Coast Path.

The Lost Gardens of Heligan, Cornwall

On the east coast, a super day out for both kids and adults. We include The Lost Gardens of Heligan here for its location, too. In the local area, visit Mevagissey Harbour and Charlestown Harbour.

Tintagel Castle, Cornwall

Romantic castle ruin perched on cliff tops with stunning coastal views. Said to be where King Arthur was conceived. Boscastle Harbour is close by. There's also some demanding cliff walking on the South West Coast Path to the north.

Lanhydrock House

In our opinion, one of South West England's finest country houses. To the east, in the Tamar Valley AONB, we'd recommend another National Trust property Cotehele House and Gardens. Try also Antony House.

River Camel and Estuary

With Padstow and Rock, The Camel Trail and the South West Coast Path, this area is packed with things to do. A short drive to the north east, explore Bodmin Moor.

Kynance Cove

Spectacular rock formations and blue green sea surround this sandy cove. Very popular attraction on the Lizard Peninsula. In the local area, we'd recommend Lizard Point and Coverack Harbour, Helford Estuary and the coast around Poldhu Cove.
