National Seal Sanctuary
Home to the National Seal Sanctuary, Gweek’s located on the Helford River and Estuary between Helford and Helston.

The Lizard and Cornwall AONB
On the fringe of both the Lizard Peninsula and a section of the Cornwall AONB, Gweek is well positioned for those wanting to explore South and West Cornwall. Falmouth, Redruth, St. Ives and Penzance are all within reasonable distance by road.

Local attractions
In addition to the National Seal Sanctuary and the Helford River and Estuary, we’d recommend The Lizard National Nature Reserve and The Lizard Peninsula’s beaches. Try the National Trust’s Kynance Cove, Kennack Sands Beaches and Poldhu Cove. Visit Lizard Point.

Clearly, there’s great coastal walking on the South West Coast Path. The midway point of this National Trail is at Porthallow. For family fun, go to Flambards. For gardens and country houses, try Trevano and Godolphin.

Longer day trips
St Michael's Mount and Mount's Bay are to the west and St Ives Bay to the north west. Falmouth’s packed with top attractions including Falmouth Pendennis Castle and the National Maritime Museum.

For a longer day trip, head for Land's End and Sennen Cove Beach. The coast here is dotted with extraordinary mines and engine houses which form part of a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
