Beach and dunes
The beaches and bays east and south of Trevose Head are exceptional. Deep and sandy, they're ideal for families. Constantine Bay Beach, in our opinion, is one of the best.

From the Constantine Bay Dunes that rise behind the beach, there are super views along this part of the North Cornwall coast. We'd recommend walking the South West Coast Path here north to Trevose Head and then following the coastline east to Mother Ivey's Bay.

Other beaches
Given the number of top family beaches in the area, we'd also suggest trips to Booby's Bay and Mother Ivey's Bay, Harlyn Bay Beach and Trevone Bay Beach.

Further to the north east, on the Camel Estuary, is Harbour Cove and Hawker's Cove Beach. South of Constantine Bay are Bedruthan Steps and Mawgan Porth Beach, Watergate Beach/Tregurrian Beach and the beaches of Newquay.

Local attractions
Other than beaches, the Camel Estuary and, specifically, Padstow are the main attractions in the area. Visit Padstow Harbour and the National Trust's Prideaux Place, ride The Camel Trail and take the passenger ferry across to Rock.

If you have kids, head for Cornwall's Crealy Great Adventure Park. If you're looking for wildlife attractions, try Newquay Bluereef Aquarium and the town's zoo. A little further away is Dairyland Farm World.

Day trips
Last, Cornwall's a small county so make the most of day trips. For moorland walking, we'd recommend Rough Tor (Bodmin). For history and culture, try the National Trust's magnificent Lanhydrock House and Gardens.

The Eden Project is to the south east and Truro Cathedral to the south. Both Falmouth and St. Ives are a reasonable drive away.
