North Cornwall coast
Located in North Cornwall close to the Cornwall/Devon border, Bude has some magnificent, big beaches looking out onto the Atlantic. To the north, in Devon, is The Hartland Peninsula. To the south west, the coastline leads to Boscastle and Tintagel, Rock and Padstow by the River Camel and Estuary.

Beaches
Running along Bude Bay are a number of long, sandy beaches. In addition to the beach that pushes inland towards Bude itself, try Northcott Mouth Beach and Sandy Mouth Beach, Duckpool Beach and Widemouth Bay Beach. We'd recommend viewing this stretch of coastline and its beaches from Bude Compass Tower and Point.

Coastal walking and local area
North Cornwall's great for coastal walking. Try the path as it runs north from Bude to the Devon border. If you want a serious yomp, we'd suggest heading south to High Cliff (Boscastle/Crackington Haven) which is said to be the county's highest cliff. There's good walking to the north around Hartland Point, too.

Clovelly, one of South West England's most visited and pretty villages, is a short drive to the north east. A little further on are the massive beaches within the North Devon AONB.

Both Dartmoor National Park and Exmoor National Park are within about an hour's drive of Bude. If on holiday in the area for a longer period of time then these make good day trips. We'd also suggest a journey to Bodmin Moor to the south east. Rough Tor (Bodmin) is superb.

South west of Bude, try Boscastle Harbour and Tintagel Castle, Port Isaac Harbour & Beach and the River Camel and Estuary.
