Top 10 Places To Visit

Salcombe
One of Devon's most popular and beautiful destinations on a bank of the Salcombe Kingsbridge Estuary. A 'must visit' place.
Dartmouth
Magnificent natural harbour at the mouth of the River Dart set below steep sided hills. The English Riviera is just to the north.
Brixham
On the north east border of the AONB, self styled as 'one of Britain's most picturesque and historic harbour towns'.
Bigbury-on-Sea
Exceptionally popular seaside resort next to a big sand beach. The view to Burgh Island is a Devon classic.
Totnes
Along with Brixham, this destination is on the border of the AONB. Twinned with Narnia, they say. Great place, great people.
Kingsbridge
To the north of the Salcombe Kingsbridge Estuary and a fine place from which to explore South Devon. Visit the cinema.
Torcross
Exquisite village looking out across Start Bay. Shingle beach, a National Nature Reserve and top walking via the South West Coast Path.
Wembury
To the west of the AONB, close to Plymouth Sound. A beach, marine centre and amazing coastal walks. See Newton Ferrers, too.
Thurlestone
Recommended for its beaches. Thurlestone is intimate, South Milton Sands stretches east. The area is ideal for families.
Outer Hope
Glorious coastal village with beaches, a dramatic harbour wall and fine views out to sea.
